Dirty Work Comedy presents
Nelly Thomas - I Coulda Been A Sailor
Synopsis
When 8-year-old Nelly was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she replied "a pirate". Why? Because "they're allowed to steal things". Her friend Ian said he wanted to be a paper-clip so he could "hold together important documents going to Tasmania". Turns out, not all dream come true.
Over the years Nelly's ambitions have ranged from sea-dog to marine biologist to super-model to Prime Minister.
She ended up being a comedian via telemarketer, nanny, cultural studies academic, social worker, pyramid seller, professional rooster and very nearly, a naval officer.
Join Nelly as she charts the choppy, hilarious and thoroughly unexpected waters of aspiration, expectation and realisation that shape us all.
