Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Robot Vs. World

Synopsis

When three world-famous TV robots of the '80s (Optimus Prime, Astroboy and a Dalek) find that their cheap Korean animation and dodgy BBC special effects have been superceded by CGI and the fans are now only interested in their new big budget reincarnations, they band together to try and find their way in a world where the old fashioned is out of fashion and the low-tech is off spec.

They were built to be the perfect fighting machines, but they were never programmed to fight obsolescence.

ROBOT vs. WORLD combines live action costumes and puppets with multimedia in a show that can be enjoyed by generations X through Z.

The awards that the show's performers have won include the Fringe Award for Best Comedy in 2004, a Moosehead Award in 2006 and 2008 Adelaide Fringes Best Puppetry Award.
