Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Small Poppy Productions present

The Small Poppies Don't Care (The End of The World is Nigh)

Synopsis

The show is a rollercoaster ride of apocalyptic proportions!

The premise is that Armageddon is just around the corner. Through a series of sketches, and some original songs, the Poppies explore how the world would deal with the impending demise of human existence - from world leaders to the pregnant woman due the week after Doomsday. Some will want to give in to that old time religion, while others will just want to have sex (a lot). There's queuing for Everest and celebrations in the International Space Station. The Grim Reaper feels overworked and underappreciated, while terrorists race against God to achieve martyrdom in this comic satire. As the clock ticks forever closer to the final hour, it is clearly a dark time to be alive, but The Small Poppies want to show that, really, you've got to laugh don't you?
