The ultimate challenge for comedy crazies, the Funny Tonne is a race to see how far three die-hard fans will go to see the most shows in the Comedy Festival and win the 2011 Funny Tonne title. Whose belly will be big enough to devour the most laughs?
Since 2005, The Funny Tonne has seen three Festival fans go head to head and smile to smile in the Amazing Race of Australian comedy. Armed with a special Comedy Passport that gets contestants in for free to as many shows as they like (while also verifying attendance), he or she who has seen the most shows at the end of the Festival wins the coveted trophy.
With over 350 shows in the 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Funny Tonners will be warming up their laughing gear and stretching the stomach muscles for the ultimate gigglefest test of endurance.
Last year's winner Mike Brown smashed the standing record, seeing an incredible 133 shows. With 26 days in the Festival that's more than five shows a day. Will he meet his match in 2011?
This year's Funny Tonners are Mathew Cooke, Kath Dolheguy and Nickolas Mason.

Kath Dolheguy36 reviews
Kath enjoys talking about herself in the third person, eating cashews and yelling at other people’s kids. Kath dislikes mushrooms, has a phobia of moths and lives in a house with no bathroom door. Kath has studied the ways of the Jedi Master and is (kind of) confident ‘the force’ will be with her (fingers crossed).

Self described comedy nerd who was brought up on a diet of The Big Gig, Benny Hill, DAAS Kapital, Monty Python and The Late Show finally gets to live out his dream to watch a truly unhealthy amount of comedy as one of the Comedy Festival Funny Tonne winners.
