Music. Where has it come from? Where is it going? Why is Jeff Buckley deceased while the Rogue Traders are free to sully the industry? What do hip-hop and seventies music have in common? What’s with all these animal band names? Who is Betty and why does she call him Al?
All these questions, and presumably some answers, will be on offer as the cult blog comes alive onstage as an hour long faux-presentation of music and comedy.
Direct from a sold-out season at the 2010 Melbourne Fringe Festival comes Al’s Music Rant. Your presenter is the titular Alister Newstead, a music writer for JMag, Beat Magazine and MX, who just also happens to be an exciting funnyman fresh from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Uni Law Revue scene. A real one-man band.
Al's Music Rant aims to entertain with songs and dance, engage with quirky insight and high energy, then enthrall with spectacle and madness, track by track.
