Archibald Wheeler knows two things: He famously dacked Adolf Hitler in '42, and his son is a muppet. In Whets the Whistle, Archie spins his finest stories, some of which even he believes. A character-laden, song-fuelled sketch of the modern world through the eyes of a slightly deluded digger.
Whets the Whistle is performed by Patrick Miller (Vigilantelope) and directed by Al Newstead (Al's Music Rant). A debut solo show, it is Pat's first side project away from the critically-acclaimed Melbourne comedy group Vigilantelope.
Re Vigilantelope, reviewers have said:
"Truly astonishing." The Pun
"Deeply infested with hilarity, you'll be recalling their jokes days later. Four stars." The Age
"A brilliantly rollicking show that had the audience in hysterics." The Groggy Squirrel
"Literally had me rocking in my seat." 3RRR
"Funny, irreverent and smart." Herald Sun
