Word of The Horne Section spread like wildfire at Edinburgh Fringe last year with punters queuing around the block to witness this comedy-jazz juggernaut.
The Horne Section is the lovechild of Perrier-nominated stand-up Alex Horne, who gained his Grade III French Horn at aged 12, and consists of session players from the likes of Madness and Girls Aloud.
Alex and his Magnificent Band welcome various comedians on to improvise a short piece, sing a song or do whatever they please, but backed and, indeed, improved by jazz. The results are unexpected and hilarious. More than comedy, more than music, it'll be like the Blues Brothers, but more Jazz Cousins. Nice.
Special guests this week include David O'Doherty, Ardal O'Hanlon, Hannah Gadsby and Reggie Watts.
“Horne is an engagingly smart man, a sort of Dave Gorman of the intellect. He has created a genuinely smart show. He not only entertains, amuses and impresses, but he makes you want to join in.” The Scotsman, UK
"'***** no other act even comes close to the hilarity and talent of The Horne Section'"
