Funny Tonne
The ultimate challenge for comedy crazies, the Funny Tonne is a race to see how far three die-hard fans will go to see the most shows in the Comedy Festival and win the 2012 Funny Tonne title. Whose belly will be big enough to devour the most laughs?
Since 2005, The Funny Tonne has seen three Festival fans go head to head and smile to smile in the Amazing Race of Australian comedy. Armed with a special Comedy Passport that gets contestants in for free to as many shows as they like (while also verifying attendance), he or she who has seen the most shows at the end of the Festival wins the coveted trophy.
With over 400 shows in the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Funny Tonners will be warming up their laughing gear and stretching the stomach muscles for the ultimate gigglefest test of endurance.
Last year's winner Kath Dolheguy smashed the standing record, seeing an incredible 145 shows. With 26 days in the Festival that's more than five shows a day! Will she meet her match in 2012?

17 reviewsHello, internet. Comedy is a big part of my life. Honestly, I have about 5 DVDs of the stuff. I've spent the last few months performing isometric exercises in my face in preparation for the hours of laughs I'll be having over the festival. I'm especially looking forward to some of the less funny shows to give my horridly gurning face a break. Please enjoy my reviews as much as I enjoyed hurriedly pawing them into my smartphone on a cold crowded tram as I rush between shows.

49 reviewsThe internet offers billions upon billions of pages to peruse and yet, incredibly, you've wound up here. If by chance you were actually after clips of cute kitten-related antics, archived pornography or an illegal torrent of some sort, I must extend my most sincere apologies: unfortunately, there's none of that gear round these parts. I did my level-best with the Festival board but, despite my efforts, they weren't into any of my ideas, least of all the 2 Girls 1 Cup splash page. There's just no pleasing some people.
Anyway, you're here now and you may as well read what I have to say about the shows at this year's festival. If you'd like to get in touch, jump onto Twitter and follow @Dancersizer
