Review by Cathy Culliver
As this show and its guests are different every night, it’s going to be hard for me to be specific in this review. You’re not going to see the same show I did. But having said that, if your night does end up being anywhere similar to mine, it’s going to be awesome.
Hosted by Ali McGregor and assisted by Virginia Gay, the show is basically a cabaret smorgasbord of comedy, burlesque, music and everything in between. I had the pleasure of seeing Tripod, Tom Allen, Michael Workman and a burlesque performer whose name escapes me – but they were all wonderful.
And it’s worth going along if only to hear the songs McGregor busts out in between all the acts with that divine set of pipes of hers. Did someone say jazz-version renditions of Prodigy and Salt ‘n’ Pepa songs? Yes please. Highly recommended.
