Review by Jonathan Graham
Wacky, but not his best work.
Probably best known for his character's on the 'Mighty Boosh', especially Bob Fossil, Rich Fulcher is brimming with left-of-centre humour. However, compared to his last MICF performance as Elanor the Tour Whore (where I bought his book that this show is based on), this is a more straight laced standup experience.
It has all the odd and out of place references that you'd expect at one of Fulcher's shows, but I honestly felt the book was better. Although the show contains lots of the hilarious images from the book and its over the top absurdity, it feels very staged and not as spontaneous. There are plenty of laughs to be found, but they are a little more predictable than the off the wall style that I'm used to from Rich.
Xavier Michelides is a funny offsider to Fulcher's brash characterisation and outbursts, but I just didn't laugh as loud or as long as his previous show.
