La Mama presents
Written and directed by Jeffrey Jay Fowler, Hope is the saddest is a bright black comedy about desire, delusion and Dolly Parton. It begins with a crash that draws the lives of three loners together. Marion has inherited money and is driving toward a new life. Theo is a would-be inventor working on his first masterpiece. Hope is an optimistic Dolly Parton fan on a mission to win over the love of her life despite the fact that he’s 'a bit gay.'
Hope is the saddest won the Best Theatre Award at Fringe World 2012 and went on to tour to South Africa and New York.
The South African Herald called it "Filled to the brim with pathos, hilarity and introspection," Edge New York described it as “a pretty perfect example of an ensemble human comedy” and the Sunday Times said “it’s witty and profound in its simple truth that all life is chaos. See it!”
