Melbourne International Comedy Festival proudly presents
Appearing in Headliners
They call him the Bitter Buddha. Eddie Pepitone is an Apocalyptic-American (with a conscience) and a master of the dark art of stand-up comedy. Hailed as Don Rickles meets Eckhart Tolle, Eddie is a force of nature onstage, switching between social rage and self-doubt.
His shows are an energetic combo of calm and chaos, blue-collar angst and sardonic enlightenment. Few comedians working today channel the power of the rant better than Eddie Pepitone.
Eddie is known for his appearances on Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle's Show, House M. D., Conan, Community and Old School opposite Will Ferrell, as well as his stand-out comic/character performances on The Life and Times of Tim, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Sarah Silverman Program and Jimmy Kimmel Live. His album ‘A Great Stillness’ debuted on Billboard’s Comedy Top 10 and his work is chronicled in the new documentary The Bitter Buddha.
“Directly descended from the Patron Saint Of Alt-Comedy, Bill Hicks.” AV Club
“Eddie Pepitone is a must-see for any committed stand-up fan.” The Scotsman
“Jaw-achingly hilarious. ★★★★★" THE SKINNY (UK)
“Pepitone is remorseless in his realisation that he’s craving approval from a roomful of drunks, but that’s just what he gets. And with his screaming yet appallingly funny outrage, he has us all on his side.” Fest Magazine
Eddie Pepitone is also performing in a special one-off, one-hour show on Fri 5 April at 11pm.
