A bookworm with no book to her name stands face-to-face with page fright. Or tries to stand, what with the no spine and all.
After sold-out shows in Melbourne and Sydney, comedian Jennifer Wong is reunited with her first love: books and writing.
Inspired by Woody Allen, Dorothy Parker and David Sedaris, Jennifer Wong knows what she wants. But attempts to follow in the writers’ footsteps are not easy, and further complicated by the fact that one of them is dead.
Expect stand-up on this invertebrate existence, with shameless pitches to publishers.
"Sharp story-telling, sizzling insight, considered observation. And puns. Wong is one to watch closely." The Daily Telegraph
"Clever, thoughtful and very funny. A masterful weaver of tales and winner of hearts, she is the must-see comedian of the year." Tim Ferguson
"A promising hour from an emerging Australian comedian." The Age

Disregard the heading. Sydney-based comic Jennifer Wong definitely has a spine. She also has a mouth and extremely malleable cheeks, which her show could not run without.

Her off-kilter observations on racial stereotypes and the Chinese language are charming and entertaining, and perfectly paired with her unique vernacular and wit.

IF there's a quiet achiever award for comedy, Sydney stand-up Jennifer Wong might be your winner.
