Laura Hughes returns to the Festival with her debut solo show, Welcome to Planet Earth, a creative mix of stand-up, sketch, video and pure joy that observes the human race from an outside perspective. That of an alien. The room is a spaceship and Laura has 60 minutes to brief everyone on their three-pronged attack to take over the planet: ASSIMILATE, MATE and DOMINATE.

Laura burst onto the comedy scene in 2011 as a RAW Comedy National Finalist, and was then hand picked by the Festival in 2012 as one of Australia’s top ‘up-and-comers’ for the Melbourne Comedy Festival Comedy Zone showcase, so you don’t want to miss her in 2013!

Laura has also appeared on several Australian TV shows including Sam Simmons' ABC show Problems and LAID. She was also a finalist in Tropfest in 2012, with the film The Mistake.
