Melbourne International Comedy Festival proudly supports the following organisations and their work in making the world a better place for everyone.
For the past 19 years Melbourne International Comedy Festival has been proudly supporting Oxfam's development work around the world through the donation of proceeds from The Gala's live performance and the national television broadcast on Network Ten. A glitterati line-up of local and international comedians donate their time and jokes to a one-night-only event of unrivalled laughs.
Melbourne International Comedy Festival is also supporting Oxfam by providing patrons the opportunity to make a small donation to Oxfam when booking tickets for certain shows.
In 2014 Oxfam Australia, with the Festival and your support, is working to provide communities around the world with clean and safe water.
For more information on Oxfam Australia check out their website.
Who is Oxfam Australia?
One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilising the power of people against poverty.
Around the globe, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them.
In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organisations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival has been supporting the Mirabel Foundation for over 11 years.
Mirabel assists children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental illicit drug use and are now in the care of extended family (kinship care). Mirabel believes that every child deserves a childhood and its mission is to break the destructive cycle of addiction.
