The Funny Tonne

Funny Tonne

Its not quite the race that stops the nation, but this chase for chuckles is one mighty amusing challenge.

Since 2005, The Funny Tonne has dared three die-hard fanatics of funny to go head to head in a race to see the most Comedy Festival shows and win the Funny Tonne title.

With a special Comedy Passport in hand successful applicants will defy all sensible logic in this Amazing Race of Australian comedy.

The Funny Tonne reviews are posted on the Festival website daily once the Festival kicks off.

The record was smashed last year by Nick Taras, who saw an incredible 147 shows!

With more shows to be seen in 2014, will the record be broken?

Funny Tonne reviews coming soon!

The Reviewers

Chris Menezies

32 reviews

Chris Menezies, Raw Comedy and Class Clowns national finalist is the type of guy who writes in 14pt and triple spaces his essays, he cheated in his year 8 novelty relay, and he's often described as a loyal friend but a bit of a dick. Some call him a lazy bastard, he calls himself a creative thinker. So basically, he's just an average guy. Jesus he's tall though. He is also brilliant at writing a bios that actually give no information.

My name is Elise and my two favourite things in the world are comedy and carbs. And I'm not meant to eat carbs so I make up for it by consuming as much comedy as possible.

Mika Tsoi

Mika has no tattoos, doesn't drink (coffee or wine, for the moment) and isn't a hipster(ha!). He's not even sure what he's doing in Melbourne.

Mika enjoys cups of tea, naps and a quiet night in with a good book and none of those till Easter.
