Not many festival shows come with an instruction manual which makes you laugh before the comedian even says a word. Dreamboat does.
Tommy Dassalo comes on stage and offers some offhand commentary of the room we're in. By day it's used to host school excursion groups and it's fair to say that it wasn't designed for comedy. Dassalo uses this to his advantage and gets quickly gets the audience onside.
Dreamboat is a really funny show and Dassalo is a skilled comedian. The story of Dassalo's high school being the target of a paedophilic website is somehow hilarious, and a tale of food poisoning in Thailand is actually a very funny love story.
This is a good choice of show for anyone looking to see a solid hour of standup.
