Review by Elise Faulkner
Joe Lycett is so charismatic on stage the audience loved him from his first joke. 'Are you naughty or nice?' he asks us, following with the revelation that he has a naughty side named Walrus, which incidentally is also his spirit animal as assigned to him by an eccentric house party goer.
Lycett is great at writing analogies, creating some really great mental images. His upbeat delivery means that the show rarely hits a lull. It's an hour of laugh after laugh.
The standard standup format is broken up by Lycett pitching himself as a game show host by splitting the audience into two 'teams' and assigning each side a captain. The game is pretty fun and the audience interaction allows Lycett to showcase his strong crowd work skills.
If Joe Lycett Then You Should've Put a Ring On It is such a great show that everyone is bound to get something out of it.
