Some shows you learn as well as laugh. Smith’s show about Asperger’s Syndrome, autism and being somewhere on the spectrum had a little of the feeling of group therapy. Everyone in the audience had someone in their life on the spectrum. The learning included a latin phrase to explain why Jenny McCarthy was and is wrong about the link between vaccinations and autism, ‘cum hoc, ergo propter hoc’ and graphs. Smith peppers his jokes with pop culture references of a certain vintage and makes no bones about the darkness and pain. It’s funny enough and there was a bit about Russian and German tanks 1943–1945, befitting someone on the spectrum.
