The Wrestling

Review by Mika Tsoi

If you are reading this review to find out shows to see, get out your 2015 calendar, mark the Comedy Festival dates and write ‘The Wrestling’ in block capitals all over them. Regardless of whether the wrestling in an unscripted competition, seeing pro wrestlers do their acrobatics and stage hype in person is impressive: when they hit the canvas, it makes a sound that elicits an ‘ooh’ from the crowd; it’s involuntary. Add the extra element of comedians doing the amazing flips and hits and fall and it is mind-blowingly good. The show goes like a wrestling night and makes the crowd roar at the end. If this comes back again next year, save your money and after the Gala and the Debate, see this.
