Made in China (IRL)
In February 2013, American-born, Irish-bred Des Bishop went to China to try and learn enough Chinese to do stand-up comedy in Mandarin, to a Chinese audience. If that wasn’t challenge enough, now he wants to make the world laugh about his experiences.
From trying to find a girlfriend at a Beijing marriage market, to working as a waiter in a Heilongjiang restaurant, and a bit of stand-up in Mandarin along the way, Made in China is a fun journey through a country we all feel we need to know better. If China is poised to take over the world, we'd better learn to make them laugh!
