Deadly Funny

2015 Deadly Funny performers and national finalists with hosts Andy Saunders and Judith Lucy.

Congratulations to the 2015 Deadly Funny winner Nina Kirby!

The Deadly Funny National Final & Showcase (held at the Forum Theatre on Saturday 18 April) was hosted by Andy Saunders and Judith Lucy, with special guests Kevin Kropinyeri, Mia Stanford, Matt Ford, Shiralee Hood, Djuki Mala and Archie Roach.

The National Final and Showcase featured amazing performances from all the Deadly National Finalists - Dane Simpson (NSW), Joshua Warrior (SA), Karen Edwards (QLD), Karla Hart (WA) and Nina Kirby (VIC).

Big congratulations on the night also went to Karen Edwards - the recipient of the Institute Of Koorie Education Deadly Funny mentorship.

Now in its 9th year Deadly Funny is the only dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander comedy program for Australia’s traditional owners.

Cheeky and loud, black and proud this program is all about unearthing and recognizing bright and bold new talent from all over the country.
