A show exploring the labels people give us and the labels we give ourselves. Following her breakthrough season at the Edinburgh Fringe, Canadian Mae Martin makes her Australian solo debut. A punchy and charismatic storyteller, shaped and challenged by a liberal upbringing and (unintentionally) hilarious mother, Mae takes on the themes of identity, sexuality and loneliness to brilliant comic effect.
Mae’s world offers wit, warm charm and brilliant stories. An hour in her company flies by!
Mae has appeared across the British media (Russell Howard’s Good News, BBC Radio 4) and supported Nina Conti on a UK wide tour.
‘A natural comic talent. ★★★★★ ' The Skinny (UK)
‘Astute, provocative, and genuinely funny. ★★★★★' Edinburgh Festival Magazine
‘Martin’s gentle charm makes it all highly watchable, while her wider thoughtfulness nudges ‘Us’ into something rather important, too. ★★★★' The Times (UK)
'Potent and personable, striking an attractive balance between thoughtfulness and goofy.’ The Guardian (UK)
