How can I find a comedian to perform at my event?
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has contacts for all the comedians who appear at the Festival. But the question of who is best for your event can be a really tricky one! We recommend you have a look through old Festival and if you want to contact someone in particular let us know. Otherwise, call us and we can put you in touch with some good booking agents in your city.

When and where can I get details about the shows in the 2005 Comedy Festival?
Full information about the 200+ shows in the 2005 Comedy Festival will be launched on Friday 4 March 2005. A free copy of the Comedy Festival Program Guide will be available in The Age newspaper on that day. If you miss out on the copy in The Age copies will also be made available at the Melbourne Town Hall, other venues and from various Bars/Cafes around Melbourne. Full details about the shows will also be available on the Comedy Festival website.

Should I book tickets?
Tickets will be available once the Program Guide has been launched. To avoid disappointment it is advisable to book tickets in advance as many shows do sell out. Ticket booking details will be included in the Program Guide and on this website.

Are the seats reserved?
For most shows the seats are unreserved. Everyone who has a ticket will get a seat, but if you want to be in the front row it will pay to be in line early. For some shows such as the Gala seats will be reserved.

What can I take children to see?
There are always many things that are suitable for children to see, such as Class Clowns Grand Final and the activities at the Collingwood Children's Farm. For all times and dates and much more please have a look at the kids' section of the 2005 program.

What do I wear?
You can wear anything you like to see a show in the Comedy Festival. Come straight after work, or from footy training. The best guide is neat casual, but there are no dress codes.

Where is the Melbourne Town Hall?
The Melbourne Town Hall is located on the corner of Swanston & Collins Streets MELBOURNE in the city.

Do you have to be 18 years of age to see a show at the HiFi Bar or other licensed venues?
No, but if you are under 18 years of age you will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the venue. Only a parent or guardian is good enough – not an older sibling, an aunt, or a friend’s parent.
