The So Called Elite

Once Upon a Coffee Cup...

"...the key thing is that people should integrate into the mainstream of Australian life. And the Greeks have done it brilliantly... Isn't that great?" John Howard, September 2006

Once a week, John Howard has his fortune read from the dregs at the bottom of the coffee cup by Yiayia. His concern is not to know how to solve the world's crises but to understand how to win the heart of Andrea - an 'integrated' first generation Greek-Australian girl.

Sit back and enjoy a cup of Greek coffee as you are taken on a twisted journey (and we don't mean by Olympic Airways) by 2006 VCA graduates - Andrea Mina, Shan Jayaweera and Matt Scholten - and character comedian Vaya Pashos (Nova 100) who was described as having "...a talent for mimicry" by The Age.

A performance that combines politics, romance and culture like you've never seen...
