Horrible Mr Bleak is writing a report and he hates unnecessary words. In fact, poetry exacerbates his eczema. Today is deadline day but an accident on the way to work causes Mr Bleak's life to spiral out of control!

Desperately trying to deliver his report on time, Mr Bleak lands in a primary school sick bay where he encounters some wonderfully strange characters - The Word Collector, The Sharpies (from The End of The Alphabet), The Jolly Vowels and The Mat that Sat on The Cat. Their ridiculous time-wasting wordplay enrages him. Mr Bleak doesn't know it but, by the end of the day, his strict and ordered world will never be the same again!
