Barb and Fran also work together in an "intercultural communication and training company" they own. They have just finished writing a 620,000 word encyclopaedia of Asian sociology, and are massively getting into Melbourne's cultural life after living in the US for nearly ten years.

I’ve heard a lot about these three but didn’t feel like a real Australian – despite my citizenship ceremony last year – till I’d seen them. They begin their show with slides of their home town of Esk, Queensland and scenes from touring around rural Australia and New Zealand. The shots of foods they’ve eaten are very funny!
Then their mix of pop songs and comedy schtick done in their own unique style brought guffaws from the entire audience. I wondered how much of the 1980s pop music the elderly and teenaged members of the audience were familiar with but for this child of the ‘80s it was terrific.
