With opening monologue by his friend Jon-oh as seen by Barb on 19 March 2008
Jon-oh opened the night with around 10 minutes of jokes about his family and other close-to-home subjects. I thought it was a good effort but just couldn’t laugh at a joke about a son being punched by his father. Good punch line, so to speak, but find a better joke with which to use it.
Fox then followed with at least an hour’s worth of material on sex, relationships, jobs, and other standard comedian fare, much of which was very funny. He was well prepared, with spot-on timing and just enough pokes at the audience to keep everybody on their toes. You may tire of his laughing at his own jokes by the end but it doesn’t detract from the fact that most of the material IS funny. Well worth the cost of the ticket.
