Whats a budgie smuggler? Wheres a thong worn? How many runs did Bradman score in the 1989 Melbourne Cup?
With the introduction of the Australian Citizenship test, the Government commission Maurice Cock and Belvedere Bagg, two highly trained Shakespearean actors, to create a show defining the Australian spirit.
They conceive "Ding-Dong-Dandenong", a cultural tale of indigenous Australians living in suburbia. The public and press are outraged at their obvious lack of taste and discretion.
Dismayed, CockBagg begin a search for the true meaning of Australian culture.
They seek out our national identity through early television shows such as 'Grab-A-Box' and iconic films such as 'Picnic at Mad Max Rock' and music from bands such as 'Mudgum'and 'Ian Thorpie and the Coloured Balls'.
Through it all, the CockBagg pair try to come to terms with their own identities as they try not to succumb to the cringe of "another shrimp on the barbie".
