Low karma? No drama. Redress the balance at Trade Aid - a series of special benefit nights at Comedy @ Trades, hosted and performed by Festival artists and devoted to raising funds for charitable groups working hard in the community.

The scientific evidence gathered over the course of 2007’s Trade Aid shows (The Wrong Night, Birdhouse and Dave & Otto’s Rock Shop) was conclusive – charity performances disproportionately lighten the hearts, lift the spirits and tickle the fancies of their audiences. No, we don’t know why either, but there it is. Make of it what you will.

This year’s benefits include The Laugh-a-long for MS Society NSW/VIC, featuring the talents of Kate McLennan and friends in a veritable feast of stand-up and character comedy, and the return of the Asylum Seekers’ Resource Centre benefit, which this year is titled “Twenty-Three Positions In A One-Night Stand”.
