Behind the Lines The Year's Best Cartoons 2007

The National Museum of Australia’s popular annual exhibition Behind the Lines: The Year’s Best Cartoons returns. Celebrating Australian political cartooning at its best, the exhibition takes you on an amusing and thought-provoking journey through the year in Australian politics.

The exhibition features more than 80 cartoons that cover major issues surrounding the environment, health care, the economy and Indigenous Australia. In 2007, the dominant issue for many cartoonists was leadership; whether it was the emergence of Kevin Rudd as a possible leader or the Howard-Costello leadership battle drawing to a close.

Come and match wits with Australia’s leading cartoonists, then cast a vote for your favourite cartoon and help decide who will win the annual People’s Choice Award.
