The freshly renamed Beaconsfield: a musical in no particular key is a savage look at the media circus surrounding the 2006 mine disaster. Brandt, Todd, Eddie, Naomi, Mel, Carleton, Koshie and even Bill Shorten star in what can only be described as the feel-good pisstake of the year!
Beaconsfield: a musical in no particular key is a little bit Disney, a little bit Webber, and whole lot of Macquarie Bank. It's the story of the 2006 Beaconsfield mine disaster in a 50 minute musical. It's scathing, silly and entirely patchy.
Staring Kate McLennan (The Mansion, Debutant Diaries), Robbie McGregor (voice of SBS, Comedy Channel, Roy & HG), Toby Truslove (Crash Palace, This Is Your Laugh), Amanda Buckley (iMpro3 Shuffle), Dan Ilic (Ronnie Johns)
Composed by Nigel Ubrihien (Billy Elliot)
"Packed with punch-lines." The Age
"Brilliant show." The Groggy Squirrel
"A riotous hour of Musical Comedy." Arts Hub
"Just don't see it." Neil Mitchell
