THE GALA

The Gala proudly supporting Oxfam, took place at the Princess Theatre. It was presented one week before the festival opening, it gave audience a chance to see a great snapshot of what the festival had to offer!

Stars from the stage, screen and airwaves included Adam Hills, Arj Barker (USA), Brendon Burns, Charlie Pickering, Chooky Dancers, Dave Hughes, Denise Scott, Des Bishop (USA/IRE), Fiona O'Loughlin, Hannah Gadsby, James Galea, Jamie Kilstein (USA), Jason Byrne (IRE), Jimeoin, Josh Thomas, Josie Long (UK), Judith Lucy, Mike Wilmot (CAN), Nina Conti (UK), Otis Lee Crenshaw (USA), Russell Kane (UK), Sammy J, Sarah Millican (UK) Tim Minchin, Tim Vine (UK) and Tom Gleeson

Proceeds from The Gala live performance and the national television broadcast on Network Ten are donated to Oxfam Australia to support their projects around the world.

OPENING NIGHT COMEDY ALLSTARS SUPERSHOW



To kick start a great festival season, the OPENING NIGHT COMEDY ALLSTARS SUPERSHOW took place on April 1 at the Princess Theatre. It was a fantastic night of cabaret & big band comedy gold featuring special guests from both Australia and overseas.

Guests included Andrew Lawrence (UK), Avenue Q, Axis of Awesome, Claire Hooper, Colin Lane, Danny Bhoy (UK), Dave Hughes, David O'Doherty (IRE), Greg Fleet, Jamie Kilstein (USA), Janeane Garofalo (USA), Jeff Green (UK), Jim Jeffries, Julia Morris, Kitty Flanagan, Mario Joyner (USA), Neil Delamere (IRE), Peter Helliar, Raymond Crowe, Rich Hall (USA), Spontaneous Broadway, Stephen K Amos (UK), Tripod and the Umbilical Brothers.
