2018 competitions now open!

Think you’ve got a particularly funny bone? Time to show the world what you’ve got!

It’s that time of year again where we put the call out to Australia, as we trek around to every corner of our nation looking for the country's freshest and funniest! Our Class Clowns, RAW Comedy and Deadly Funny competitions are officially underway and we want YOU!

By entering, you could win a trip to Melbourne to perform with us at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, plus some cash, or perhaps a trip to Edinburgh. Come on Australia, show us what you’ve got!

 

DEADLY FUNNY

Cheeky and loud, black and proud, Deadly Funny is Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s national comedy competition unearthing the freshest and funniest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent from across the country. Local heats for the 2018 competition kick off in November 2017, and will also feature a star-studded comedy line-up of Australia’s best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander comedians.

RAW COMEDY

RAW Comedy is Australia’s largest and most prestigious open mic comedy competition.

Put your best foot forward and enter RAW Comedy – Australia’s largest and most prestigious open mic competition! With past competitors including Tom Ballard, Hannah Gadsby, Ronny Chieng, Celia Pacquola and Luke McGregor, you can see that RAW Comedy really helps to strike that perfect comedy balance. You never know what new heights will be reached!

The RAW Comedy National Champion jets off to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – the world's largest and most awesome annual comedy fun time to perform in So You Think You're Funny?.

CLASS CLOWNS

Class Clowns is Melbourne International Comedy Festival's development program for young people around the country. From comedy workshops in schools to a national comedy competition, Class Clowns engages and inspires young funny peeps to hone their potential. With alumni including Joel Creasey, Rhys Nicholson, Aaron Chen and Tom Ballard, Class Clowns truly is a one-of-a-kind experience and a springboard to success!
