Raewyn and Urvi have unusual names. It’s not scary though, just breathe, they can talk you through it.
Two fast rising stand-up comedians, Raewyn Pickering and Urvi Majumdar want to share some of their strangest interactions in the off-beat aspects of daily life. Sick of having to correct every MC on how to pronounce their names, Raewyn and Urvi have teamed up to create their own show in which they will deliver stories with quick wit (and just the right amount of sarcasm) that audiences all over Australia have been loving! They will be joined by a different guest host (including Melbourne International Comedy Festival favourites such as Peter Jones, Jonathan Schuster, Nick Capper, Matt Stewart, Jess Perkins and so many more!) who will help make each night unforgettable, and a unique experience for everyone attending.
Raewyn Pickering was a finalist in the 2017 North Melbourne Comedy Competition and uses her engaging wit to chat about growing up in rural Queensland, animals, working with children and none of life’s big questions.
Since bursting into Melbourne’s comedy scene, Urvi Majumdar can be seen performing regularly at local venues and also as part of the Princess Pictures production That’s What She Said. Urvi is known for her dry and dark sense of humour as she tells stories of ironic misunderstandings, the struggles of trying to fit in as an immigrant child and her efforts to control an unruly imagination.
Whether your name is regularly misprinted on takeaway orders, or if you’re lucky enough to have never felt name-conscious when meeting someone for the first time, you are bound to find yourself (or at least find yourself laughing) in this eclectic collection of stories. This show will have you pondering human behaviour and rethinking all your day-to-day interactions.

'We met a few people with that name and just liked the sound of it.' Raewyn’s Dad
'Her name is the most normal thing about her.' Urvi’s Mum
