Rachael Millanta is an actor, improvisor, comedian and writer, who has a problem with over-enthusiasm that she refuses to address. Following her sold-out run at the 2018 Sydney Fringe Festival, Rachael brings her debut solo show Lower Your Expectations to Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The show is a mix of stand-up and storytelling, inspired by everything in her life that hasn’t quite gone as her five-year-old self had planned.
Rachael studied acting before finding one of her two true loves – comedy (her other true love is her cat – she really loves that cat). She regularly performs around Sydney with improv troupe Night Shift, having studied at Improv Theatre Sydney and Laugh-Masters Academy. She performed improv at Sydney Comedy Festival in 2018, and has told stories at A Likely Story, Bespoken Word and on ABC Radio. Rachael also performs stand-up comedy, regularly appearing at What She Said Comedy and other leading venues around Sydney.
Rachael’s parents would also like it noted that she has a law degree from UTS, which is currently going to waste while she pursues her creative passions.
'Heartfelt, relatable and very very funny.' Sophie Long, What She Said Comedy
'Lower Your Expectations is funny, fresh and an unfortunate representation of what it feels like being a twenty-something year old navigating your first steps into adulthood.' Twenty Something Humans
'Is this what you gave up being a solicitor for?' Dad
