Jacinta Gregory 1980s Depression The Musical

Emerging from a hugely successful first run at the Sydney Fringe Festival comes the completely original journey about mental health, and the 1980 – 1980s Depression The Musical.

Jacinta Gregory is a musical commedienne who is obsessed with all things 80s – Cyndi Lauper, Dirty Dancing, the Berlin Wall. When her depression hits, she escapes into her idealised version of the 1980s. Join her for an hour of synth-filled songs about love, the state of the world and John Hughes.

It will be bizarre, there will be legwarmers and by GOD will there be synths. Girls just want to have fun!  Right? THat's All They Really Want..

'Jacinta Gregory immerses herself in the gaudy, colourful aesthetic of a past generation, to create some very contemporary musical comedy'. Theatre Travels

'Charismatic and discreetly disciplined Jacinta Gregory is home grown talent to watch out for.' Sydney Arts Guide

'Jacinta drives the point home that mental illness doesn’t have to define a life, certainly not from the point of view of others.' Fringe Feed

Jacinta Gregory is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter most known for musical comedy and jokes about her mental state. She has performed in Adelaide, Perth, and Sydney as part of fringe festivals, co-wrote the sell out show Holt!
