Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

VAX THE NATION

Launched today, Monday 6 September 2021, #VAXTHENATION is a joint effort by more than 400 of Australia’s biggest artists and performers along with leading tour promoters, festivals, venues, ticketing agencies, record labels, comedy producers, theatre, opera and dance companies, streaming platforms, industry associations, and peak bodies asking Australians to help ‘stop the interruptions’ and get vaccinated... now!

We’re all united by the same vision: ending the constant interruptions to our live entertainment culture by encouraging everybody to get vaccinated. We all have a part to play in getting back to the gigs, events, concerts and festivals we love.

Being able to deliver the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2021 was truly a blessing, and we want to do the same next year. But not just our festival, we want to be able to immerse ourselves in all live events across Australia – laughing in comedy rooms, catching our favourite comedians on tour, singing along with musicians in local venues and jam-packed stadium, or being transported into a different world at the theatre or cinema.

In order to do that, we need to get vaxxed.

So no matter who you are, your background or where you live, now’s time to get vaccinated. We guarantee your next show back will be one of the best of your life.
