Please note, the event Bad Mother has been cancelled.
Kate Hanley Corley comes out from behind her many masks (Fanny Bouffante, South Yarra Mum Annabelle) to be herself, a Bad Mother – the tale of a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdance.
In Bad Mother, Kate Hanley Corley talks about how she wishes she was not tasked with the spiritual, emotional, psychological and physical well-being of her kids… because to be frank, she really is not qualified!
Does your baby sometimes drop out of your pram because you’re too busy doing a TikTok? Do you use the Casino carpark as a temporary creche? Do you look forward to a colonoscopy for some peace and quiet? Then chances are you’ll love Bad Mother because, like you, she’s not just bad, she’s appalling.
Also known as the creator of the Enjo-inspired growsuit the 'Crawl 'n' Clean' Kate Hanley Corley draws from 17 years of bad motherhood, finding humour where others might find tragedy.
Kate Hanley Corley is responsible for Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows French Women Do Everything Better, Scandals and South Yarra Mums, which she has successfully toured throughout Victoria, regional NSW and the ACT.
Kate, with the help of collaborators comedy mentor Edwina Exton and composer Emma Hart, brings an hilarious 50 minutes of continence-challenging content with original songs, including 'I Wanna Be A Mum in the Seventies'.
During lockdowns Kate produced several parody songs in her loungeroom which went viral including 'Victoria', 'Suttonly' and 'Hotel Quarantina'.
Join Kate to celebrate doing a dreadful job at the most important job in the world – parenthood!
Are you a Bad Mother?
