Cam & Mort
Snake Eyes
Two boys sharing one dream, one roll of the dice and one hour of piping hot stand-up comedy.
Telling jokes on stage is always a gamble and more often than not you’ll throw a couple of duds before you really clean up.
2024 RAW National Finalist (so good), Cam Muratore and VIC State Finalist (not bad), Mort have hit new highs and laughable lows, having spent the past year slithering through the thickets of the Melbourne comedy scene, sifting through the ones and seizing the sixes in order to bring you their Festival debut, SNAKE EYES!
Relatable and ridiculous, agreeable yet critical, the affable twofer will be serving up their finest pleasantries from the year gone by.
Diving into the world of stand-up at the tender age of 30, Mort quickly found his proverbial sea legs in the tumultuous waters of Melbourne's open mic comedy scene and has been hooked from the get-go. Five months into this endeavour he made it to the 2024 RAW Comedy State Final in Victoria and in the months following spent his time filling the calendar, booking shows all over the city and in regional Victoria, running his own room, hosting and just getting up whenever the opportunity presents itself, honing his unique take on the art of verbal f**kery.
Disarming you with a somewhat easy going delivery and coastal drawl attributed to his Sunshine Coast upbringing, the now Melbourne-based comic manages to find the ridiculous in the mundane aspects of his own life and relishes in judging the habits of certain troglodytes we all encounter in our day to day lives but don’t always talk about, doing so with a disposition that is cheerful, considered and charming, in a “let him know where the spare house key is because he’s trustworthy and a good landscaper but I wouldn’t want him to marry my daughter” kind of way.
Littered with whimsical verbiage and a penchant for nostalgia, Mort's
comedic style will no doubt catch you off guard and get you on board tout de suite.
Cam Muratore has accomplished much in his short time in the comedy scene, including making it to the RAW Comedy Grand Final in 2024 and he is yet to cry after a gig.
Cam will take you through the life of being a broke 25-year-old stand up comedian, living as a little Italian boy in the mean streets of Reservoir and the trials and tribulations that come with it.
Cam had a 'promising' career as a surveyor and threw in the towel to work in an esteemed fabric factory and focus on the dream of being a stand-up comedian, spending all of his time hustling for gigs all around the city. Going through a big break up allows you a lot of time to work on your craft.
Light hearted, silly and actually a really nice guy if you go to know him.
Please note, the following performances will be filmed: Sat 19 Apr
Suitable for audiences 15+
