Eddie Pattison

Dad Genes

  • Australia

'One to watch at the comedy festival.' The Age

Dad Genes is a debut comedy hour about losing a father whilst kinda (sort of) becoming a man.

Eddie Pattison's life has been a bit heavy-handed on the plot lately. Wasn't starting testosterone enough? Did we really need to throw in an official membership to the Dead Dads Club?

Between grief, growing ass hair and an ever increasing prescription of amphetamines, Eddie is simply a lil' guy begging for a filler episode. But with a hairline threatening to recede any day now and a deadname shared with an (alleged) murderer? That isn’t looking likely anytime soon.

What audiences are saying about Dad Genes

'Dad jokes have never hit harder then when coming from a short king with perfect timing. The drama, narrative and hilarious side bars had us all in stitches!'

'Eddie Pattison is my new favourite comedian! So funny and heartfelt!'

'The best advice on grief I never knew I needed! 10/10 would watch again.'

'Hilarious, idiosyncratic, witty and relatable. I cannot recommend Dad Genes highly enough.'

About Eddie Pattison

Eddie Pattison (they/he) is a queer and trans actor, comedian and theatre maker. Blending their devising roots in stand-up with theatrical storytelling, they believe there to be true radicalness in creating comedy & theatre that is silly, delightful, honest, and undeniably queer. They were a 2024 RAW Comedy State Semi-Finalist (VIC), and have been the recipient of a Green Room Award (2019, Baby Bi Bi Bi), the Melbourne Fringe People's Choice Award (2019), and the Melbourne Fringe x Midsumma Queer Mentorship and Development Award (2018).
