Raewyn Pickering

Sheepish

  • Australia

Raewyn Pickering used to be embarrassed about never going to university, but she has been balancing life working with livestock by day and as a stand-up comedian by night and is as fulfilled as they come.

Raewyn’s comedy is a refreshing blend of rural wisdom and urban insights, all too happy to poke fun at the naivety of city folk. No longer ashamed to be 'just a farmer', she’s got stories about the gross reality of farm animals that would make a businessman’s toes curl inside their pristine R.M. Williams boots.

After a successful debut solo Bush Week at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Raewyn Pickering is ready to follow up with unabashed comedy that is no longer sheepish, but filled to the brim with sheep, alpacas and goats. With her knack for storytelling and her effortless delivery, Raewyn promises a night of laughter and unforgettable insights – she’s not pulling the wool over anyone’s eyes.

Raewyn intelligently weaves observations and witticisms in a charming and laid-back style that has made her a regular across Melbourne’s best comedy clubs. She also hosts a popular monthly show at Miss Moses in Brunswick, with fellow rising comic Jordan Barr, and is a regular evening guest on ABC Radio with David Astle.

'Hilarious anecdotes... unpretentious, understated style… The future of stand-up is in good hands.' The Plus Ones
