The festival usually means low phone battery, uncomfortable chairs, and hours without fluids — lucky for us, Nick gets it. He’s supplied us with tea, pillows, and even a phone charger before diving into his hour.

Everything That Happened At Number 23 is a little bit story, a little bit comedy, and a little bit of everything in between. Nick is an insanely good storyteller, nerves aside, his word choices are reminiscent of the best purveyors of the written word.

While the particular story is one that many of us have heard before in some form, Nick’s retelling really sets this apart from the rest, thanks to the aid of polaroid photos, and language that doesn’t just tell you, it takes you back, puts you in the room with Nick as these weird and wonderful things happen in his sharehouse.

Nick’s a gifted storyteller, and this show definitely works to his strengths.
