Melbourne becomes a little bit more multicultural each year when the Comedy Festival rolls around, when we’re gifted fresh cultures, backgrounds, and approaches to comedy. The Succulent Comedy Showcase celebrates the best in Asian comedy on the 2025 bill, bringing comedy from points of view we don’t get to hear from as much.

Comedian Harry Jun led proceedings, bringing the perfect level of energy to the stage, sharing stories of stand-up and friends. The audience was treated to short sets from a variety of comedians from the festival, including Anirban Dasgupta, Ting Lim, Harry Jun, Michael Cho, Annie Louey, and David Correos, each sharing experiences with Asian culture, and stories about their place in the world. Each comedian managed to pull us in with their few minutes on stage, some with crowd work, others with compelling and original humour.

The Succulent Comedy Showcase is the perfect way to spend your night if you’re looking for some fresh comedy voices.
