Julian O’Shea: One For The Record Books

“One For The Record Books” is a chance for Julian O’Shea to brag. And, dare I say it, anyone who has achieved multiple world records – and not silly world records, cool ones – deserves a chance to brag.
Yes, it’s worth noting that I am someone who finds transport-related world records cool. Not ‘cool’ in a condescending way, but ‘cool’ in a genuine way: I’m in a group chat who spent days trying to decipher steel train timetables, if that gives you a sense of what we’re working with here. Julian O’Shea has a target audience, and I’m right there in it.
Is Julian O’Shea the objectively funniest comedian I’ve ever seen? No. Does his show have the cleanest structure I’ve ever seen? Also no. And yet, “One For The Record Books” is such a good time that you’d be hard-pressed not to leave with a smile on your face. O’Shea is charismatic and confident in the ways that matter, and carries an affability that reads as unmistakably genuine.
This show is fun, sincere, and interesting. There’s nothing but a good time to be had here.
