Rube Goldberg Machine is Lena Moon’s first solo hour of stand-up comedy. It bounces between the story of an ill-fated trip to JB Hi-Fi, and a loosely-connected set of asides, covering everything from cults, to real estate agents, to the 2000’s icon that is Groovy Chick. Moon is charismatic and sociable, and when she revealed that she’s a Twitch streamer it made a lot of sense to me. She has an ability to hold the attention of the crowd, and bring them back to her if she feels their attention slipping. It will be exciting to see how this show develops throughout its run: there were times that it was evident Moon was still finding her feet. Once she has settled into her material, this has the legs to be a solid hour of stand-up.
