Asian Parents are Disappointed to Present

Hannan Azlan

DRGS R BAD

  • Malaysia

Hannan Azlan celebrated her 30th birthday in rehab.

She spent most of her comedy career and adult life running away from her problems, running away from herself. She used dark humour and songs about incest to hide. To mask. To distract the audience. So you couldn't truly see her.

This production is being written in the spirit of acceptance and forgiveness – to reveal, to bare, to show.

'A revelation.' ★★★★★ ArtsHub

Hannan has been featured on Comedy Central, MTV and ABC.

She is the youngest winner of the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition and has since toured Asia, Australia, the UK, EU and USA.

She graduated with a MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and trained at Ecole Philippe Gaulier.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.
