Judy Horacek
Everyone on the Bus Fell Down (Not Just Me)
A slide show presented by much-loved cartoonist and children's illustrator Judy Horacek, about public transport, climate catastrophe, a sheep of a certain colour and getting older for real.
Older than probably 98% of Festival performers, this is Judy Horacek's very first Melbourne International Comedy Festival show. A fun-filled 50 minutes of cartoons featuring her feisty pointy nosed characters and stories about her life as a cartoonist and children's book creator, bumping through the world as best she can. Feminism, social justice and a deep dive into green concerns with our worries and fears about the way we are destroying the planet – all prime material for humour! Plus, lots about the other type of green that’s been important in her life, one that is ovine rather than environmental, from the children’s classic she created with Mem Fox, Where is the Green Sheep?'
Judy has been trying to solve the problems of the world for decades. She acknowledges that it hasn’t worked. Come along to laugh at the crises of the world – it's better than staying at home crying.
'Judy can be funny about almost anything.' John Clarke
'One of Australia’s best cartoonists and should be a worldwide phenomenon. She brightens the day with wit and intelligence.' The Sunday Age
'Her cartoons about the joys and disappointment of being human… strike the deepest chord.' The Age
Suitable for audiences All Ages
