It’s Fadzri Rashid’s third year at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, but this time, he’s pulling back the curtain. In his brand-new hour, Growing Pains, Fadzri gets real, raw and ridiculously funny as he traces the journey from his mischievous childhood in Malacca to the bearded menace of comedy he is today.

Expect big laughs, honest confessions and stories that hit you right in the feels. Come find out what shaped the man behind the mic, and why every stumble, heartbreak and awkward young-adult moment was worth it.

Accessibility

The main entrance is via Swanston Street through the main portico doors. Ascend the main staircase - approx 20 carpeted stairs with handrails on either side. Once at the top, travel through the large gilded bronze doors and into the foyer. Turn right and continue up the internal marble staircase, of approx 20 stairs, to Level 2. Head down the red carpeted corridor for approx 30m and the performance space is on the right.

For step-free/wheelchair access, enter through the doorway on Swanston Street, to the left of the main staircase. Take the ramp and turn right to follow the corridor towards the lifts (if you reach the Lower Town Hall lobby, you have gone too far). There is lift access to the second floor where you exit and turn left. Head down the red carpeted corridor for approx 30m and the performance space is on the right.

Bag searches are required as a condition of entry. Patrons are discouraged from bringing bags or items that are too large to fit under a seat to events. No outside food or drink is permitted into the venue, other than water or for medical reasons. There is no storage or cloaking space available.
