Zoë Coombs Marr

Busy Club (Work In Progress)

  • Australia

Winner Most Outstanding Show 2016 Melbourne Intertnational Comedy Festival
Winner Herald Angel 2019
Edinburgh Fringe
Nominee Best Show 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe

What’s Zoë working on? Who knows, but she’s busy.

Art residency meets comedy concert, as Zoë takes over a venue to custom build her own world from scratch & finally put her sculpture degree to use.

With WIP shows over the month, come witness the evolution of this ad hoc extravaganza, complete with traps, tricks, awe and failure, and some art-school-gold from Zoë’s mega-spreadsheet of jokes and stories.

You might have seen Zoë on Spicks & Specks, Thank God You’re Here, The Weekly, Question Everything, The Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala, her Amazon special Bossy Bottom, hosting Mardi Gras, or in her own ABC series Queerstralia, among other things. She’s also been nominated for heaps of awards, which she occasionally wins. Good on her.

'Gloriously off-the-wall. ★★★★★' The Age

'Infectious delight.- ★★★★' Chortle

Suitable for audiences 15+

Language – occasional coarse language

Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.
